In a vibrant celebration of internal talent, Sandals Resorts International recently crowned the winners of its first-ever group-wide 'Resort Riddims' competition, awarding two team members US$10,000 each. The grand finale, held at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort in Jamaica, transformed a conference area into a full-scale performance studio, complete with stage lighting and sparkler fountains, for a live show featuring the top four finalists from Grenada, Jamaica, and The Bahamas. The competition was a central feature of the company's first group-wide town hall of 2026, led by Executive Chairman Adam Stewart. Following business updates on hurricane recovery and new developments, the event shifted to celebrate the 'Service DNA'—the core values shaping the Sandals guest experience. Months earlier, team members across the Caribbean were invited to write and perform an original song embodying these values, generating over 100 entries from Sandals and Beaches resorts in nine countries. The initiative highlighted significant internal talent and camaraderie, with preliminary rounds held at each resort location. The winning jingle has now been adopted as the anthem for the brand's Service DNA. The town hall also served as a platform for Stewart to provide key updates, including progress on recovery from Hurricane Melissa, which impacted the company's Jamaican properties last fall. This internal celebration occurs alongside major strategic developments for the resort chain. Sandals Resorts International has announced a US$200 million investment to comprehensively reimagine three of its flagship Jamaican properties: Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean, and Sandals South Coast. Described as a 'Sandals 2.0' transformation, the project turns post-hurricane disruption into an opportunity for large-scale renewal. The resorts, which remained closed for assessment after five other Jamaican properties reopened in December, are now scheduled for phased reopenings in late 2026.
