The Guyana Human Rights Association has condemned the government's unpublished agreement to accept U.S. deportees, warning that the move violates the Constitution and risks Guyana's international reputation. In a statement, the GHRA stated that public rejection is growing over the decision to collaborate with Washington on removing migrants and asylum-seekers to third countries.

The association criticized the secrecy of the arrangement and raised alarm over aggressive arrest methods used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
