Gospel reggae artist Johnmark Wiggan is set to launch his highly anticipated second album, "By Fire," on Saturday, March 28th. The release event will take place at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at Jamaica College, marking a significant milestone three years after his debut project, "Validation."
The 12-track album promises a rich blend of Caribbean rhythms and deeply personal narratives, exploring themes of growth, refinement, and the transformative journey of self-discovery. Wiggan's music has consistently carved out a unique space, resonating with listeners through its compelling sound and spiritual depth. With "By Fire," he aims to delve further into this identity, delivering a body of work that reflects his personal and musical evolution since his initial release.
Wiggan emphasized his growth, stating, "I’ve grown a lot; not just in sound, but in honesty. Since Validation I have experienced a lot and that has shaped my approach to this album and the tone of the album. By Fire is focused on being real about where I’ve been and what I’ve learned." He believes this authenticity will allow the music to feel more grounded and intentional, fostering a stronger connection with his audience.
Beyond its musical aspirations, "By Fire" is positioned as a platform for broader impact. Wiggan has strategically partnered with several corporate entities to support the album's launch and purpose. These collaborators include prominent brands such as St. Mary’s Snacks, Credit Unions of Jamaica, Honey Bun, Chicken & Tings, CVM, and Love101. These partnerships underscore the project's vision to extend its reach and influence beyond the music itself, potentially addressing social issues like student housing insecurity, though specific details on this initiative remain to be fully unveiled.
The album's artwork was recently revealed at a media launch, offering a glimpse into the project's aesthetic and thematic direction. "By Fire" is poised to be a significant release for Wiggan, showcasing his continued artistic development and commitment to creating music that is both sonically engaging and spiritually meaningful.
