Jamaica’s Jahmarie Nolan, playing for the Toronto FC Academy and a former Under-17 star, scored a stunning second-half hat-trick in a 9-0 victory over Cayman Islands during their CONCACAF U20 Qualifiers match. Giovanni Taylor also contributed with two goals as Jamaica secured their third consecutive win. This triumph marks Jamaica's fourth straight victory against the Cayman Islands at this level since 2008, showcasing their dominance in regional youth football. The match was held on Friday at Stadion Rignaal ‘Jean’ Francisca in Willemstad, Curaçao.
Historically, Jamaica has been a powerhouse in CONCACAF U20 qualifiers, consistently outperforming teams like the Cayman Islands. Nolan’s performance highlights the depth and talent within the Jamaican youth system, which continues to produce world-class players for clubs such as Toronto FC. The win further cements Jamaica's position at the top of Group B with a significant goal difference over Puerto Rico.
Jamaica will next face an uncertain opponent in their upcoming match, while the Cayman Islands must regroup and improve their performance if they wish to challenge the Jamaicans in future qualifiers.
