The Pakistani government is open to the possibility of allowing former Prime Minister Imran Khan to receive medical treatment at a private hospital or even abroad, should adequate care not be available within government facilities. This consideration comes as the administration pledges to adhere to a Supreme Court directive concerning Khan's healthcare.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated that the government has formally approached the Supreme Court to seek clarification. The inquiry aims to determine whether the medical relief previously granted to Khan is exclusive to him or if it can be extended to other incarcerated individuals. This move signals a potential shift in how medical needs of high-profile prisoners are addressed.
