A 33-year-old Trinidadian national and lawful U.S. resident, Chad Barclay, has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking and admitted to kidnapping six women in New York. The U.S. Department of Justice reported that during his plea hearing, Barclay confessed to luring a woman to his residence on September 13, 2022, under the guise of commercial sex, before robbing and sexually assaulting her. Under the plea agreement, he admitted to kidnapping six additional victims between 2022 and 2023.

Barclay's legal troubles previously led to a 20-count superseding indictment in August 2023 involving five victims, covering offenses like interstate prostitution, kidnapping, Hobbs Act robbery, and witness tampering. A second superseding indictment followed in May 2026, adding charges of sex trafficking and related crimes involving two more victims.
