Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica (HRMAJ) President Dr Cassida Jones-Johnson is urging local employers to establish robust workplace protections for employees dealing with long-term illnesses. Speaking at the official launch of the 2026 Jamaica Reach to Recovery Pink Run, she emphasized that the same fervor applied to fundraising equipment should inspire companies to review and improve their internal policies.

The 2026 Pink Run aims to attract 20,000 participants and raise $30 million to purchase a digital mammography machine for the Jamaica Cancer Society, which will serve six parishes currently lacking access. Breast cancer continues to be the primary cause of cancer and related fatalities among Jamaican women, with the island logging 1,327 new cases in 2022 alone.
