The Government of Jamaica has secured a US$50 million investment from the Green Climate Fund to advance climate-resilient agriculture and bolster national food security. Titled ADAPT Jamaica: Enhancing Climate Change Resilience of Vulnerable Smallholders in Central Jamaica, the initiative is a joint government effort involving the Ministry of Water, Environment and Climate Change and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Mining.

Supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the project will benefit vulnerable small farmers across central parishes facing severe climate risks, including hurricanes and droughts. The funding package comprises a significant grant contribution from the Green Climate Fund alongside additional financing from domestic and international partners.
